My 3rd Week ~"Challenge to Myself" results and OWH project info!!!

Ok...having to post a little early this week. Will be away on Thursday morning.
I am putting this 2 page layout in The NSD Fruit Challenge over at Mary at Cardz TV Go check it out. Some pretty talented people posted already.

I pulled out my Mayberry WOG Kit. I adapted this one for my own personal use, instead of for a class or workshop. (I always see things differently...LOL! Only follow the wog kit map when working a class or workshop).  Anywhooo...I had some odd and end pics that I wanted to put in layouts but, I did not want to do a whole page just for one pic. This is what my crazy brain came up with. I also wanted to incorporate the fruit theme for a blog challenge as well. Then you will see at the bottom, I made a card with the lefts overs from this part of the paper pack I used. I still have plentyof cardstock and B&T papers to make about 3 maybe 4 more layouts. I love these paper packs.
CTMH products used unless noted otherwise.
Paper pack, button badges, & stamp set from the Mayberry Workshop on the Go Kit. Colors used: Smoothie, Olive, Sweet Leaf, Cranberry, Sunny yellow, & Colonial white.

On the first page I stamped the pear in Sweet Leaf 1st then Sponge daubed the stamp with Olive in various placeas and restamped the image. The apple, I stamped in Sunny yellow first, then daubed the stamp with Olive and Cranberry and restamped the image on top of the yellow. Cut those images out and pop dotted to the layout.
I stamped the center of the fabric badge buttons with the different fruit just to get the negative effect from the stamp. Stamped the tiny flower on top in four locations and adhereed to the page. You see here where I used the idea of the WOG Kit 1/2 circles to border the stripe. I just used a smaller scallop border punch I had from Fiskars and cut them in half to line up against the striped  page border

On the second page I stamped the peaches in the smoothie color first, cleaned the stamp and heavily rock n rolled in the sunny yellow on the lower sides and upper section of the peach then restamped the image. I stamped the leaves in sweetleaf first then rock-n-rolled in the olive and restamped the image.
The peaches look nearly real with the yellow stamped on top of the smoothie ink.

Here you see the button badge stamped in a closer view.

Here is the card I made with some of my left overs. I am sending this to a friend of mine. So I am not sharing the inside in case she happens to get on here before she receives it. This is the B &T paper from the Mayberry paper pack that I made the scallop circles from.

I edge the inside of the scalloped whole punches and all the edges of the cardstock in Olive. I centered the punched out area, then stamped the cherries and the flower in the center. I stamped the sentiment card stock in yellow flowers and also placed 3 buttons from bag of buttons onto the card. I do not make a lot of cards, so, I think this one is pretty good. I'll try more embellishments on my next attemp for a card. Hope you like my creations this week. Have more creations but, not enough time to post everything. I'll be back later on this week or over the weekend...Life happens first...

Love to see your comments. Thank you for taking time to stop by my little world of crafting.
PSSSS.....Also, to challenge myself to make cards, I have decided to make cards for the Operation Write Home Organization....This is where we send hand made blank cards to our heros so they are able to send messages home. They are in desperate need of Fathers day cards by the 21st of May. Please read the guidelines and watch the mailroom video. They have a location close to you to mail them to so they don't take as long.
I won't be able to send a lot at this moment...but, I will send at least 10 to 15 to them before the deadline. The next deadline will be may 30th for Memorial Day cards I believe. Click on the badge I have added to my side bar. If you can help them out, It would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I can host a monthly card making in my area for our heros.  The site to go to is: http://operationwritehome.org
