I am always surprised by the many pictures we all have from the generations before us that we don't know who they are, what the occasion was, which side of the family these people are from. And yes, there are many of us who will not know this information because key family members are no longer around.
It makes me sad when I go through some pictures and hate that I do not know important dates or names of family members in these pictures that are from long ago. If your not already keeping some form of family history, take a small step and scrapbook a page, or journal a note in a journal book and post the picture with it. Writing on photographs are not recommended due to the deterioration after time passes. Preserving your memories does not have to be expensive or fancy. After I am finished with the Birthday Blog and my craft projects later this week, I'll share with you my first few years of  preserving my memories. You will laugh at some and others you'll remember, before all these little and big crafting tools came about, there was a way to create and enjoy those wonderful memories. Enough of that and off to entering the giveaway.

Here's some pics from my party last night. Had a great time with a few friends and family. My wonderful Friend Steph did a fantastic job gathering people together. My daughter did a great job on the cake...and my funny hubby made sure the fire extinguisher was close at hand as my many candles of life blazed away...LOL!
We enjoyed our Thirty-One Consultant with all the wonderful bags, totes, purses and so on. I truly enjoyed seeing many of you whom I do not get the opportunity to see all the time. These will be a scrapbook page or two for a later posting.

 Our Crop Club L.O. from Aug. 20th.

 We did shadow stamping and made simple pockets to hold picture tabs. We also used the 12' Flip flap assortment (12"x8"). These are so wonderful to add an interactive 1/2 page to your protective scrapbook sheet to add more pics and extend your layout all with in the 12x12 page. They open up like an extra page. I think they are my favorite item of Close To My Heart's Products. I am always in favor of being able to add more pictures to my 12x12 layout. But, lets face it...You can only add so much to one page or even a 2 page layout.

We made this very simply so that the main focus was on how to plan

their layout when using the 12" assorted Flip Flaps at home.

My Banner and My New Scrapbook Room!!

A wonderful banner and pics of my new craft room are for your eyes only....
Been away a few days to recover. Lupus decided to show it's ugly head and attacked with full flair up. But before all that hindered me, last week I was able to finally put my banner together. It's been a month long project. While working on re-doing my craft room I also decided on banner colors, papers to use, embellishments, and a layout. here are the pics of the planning for the banner from a few months back.

Planning stages from May 2011. The triangles are from CTMH and in the next picture you see where I re-purposed box lids and covered with black cardstock to make the rectangles. I used up papers from some CTMH paper packs and also incorporated a few random papers.

This is just after I re-arranged and added the Ikea Organizing system I received as a gift from my wonderful friend Wendy. Click last post regarding this wonderful gift. Here's the new room....

Just a little more work to do. I will be redoing the closet and adding one more table in that area.

For now it is on my door to my wonderful new organized scraproom.

I am so very blessed to have a scraproom. Big change from having it stashed under my bed, then into a closet and now after about 10+ years later. I have a very nice room that allows me peace and space to work and leave it out until I come back. So those who have just the dining table and are having to do with make shift set ups, just remember....nothing happens instantly and we are all on different levels. So, don't be jealous of what you don't have, enjoy what you do have. One day your fairy craft room will come.

Thanks Wendy for the wonderful gift. I am so glade your Estate Sale was a success and I am even more happy that I was able to help a friend. May you and Joe's new journey in New York be all that it can be and even better. You deserve the Best. I will come visit and in the mean time....I'll see you on Skype! A little hard work....

... sweat, bumps & few small bruises goes a long way when helping out a friend.....I have such a wonderful friend that I am losing to New York City...Not losing really, but the distance will be hard for us to see each other. I was so happy to be able to help her out when she truly needed me. She is down sizing from about 2900sq. ft to a little less than 1000sq. ft. We put together an Estate Sale, took nearly three weeks of constant going through 20 years of house, atic, and three nearly adult teens stuff. (husband already in New York), Then had to organize and list various expensive artsy items as well as big furniture. Three days of early morning to late afternoon sales and she reached her goal (thankfully). Hit the magic number she needed. Now clean up and donate the rest. As I am listing the Ikea White 8 piece book shelving, She comes to me and says, "I am not donating this...I am giving it the best home ever"...and she gives the whole set to me. Can you say speechless. This is a $400 to $600 organizing system. One that I have only dreamed of owning for my craft room. Once I am done helping my Forever Friend and setting up my room...I will post new pics of my now Awesome Craft Room... Just had to share this. Thanks. I am almost finished reconstructing my Blog too. I am missing crafting. So as soon as possible I will have all new crafty items to share. Do stay and browse around. There are several posts with information and some videos you may enjoy.
