Finally, I am back

......to post the results of my challenge .  Have had technical difficulties with camera/computer uploads.

Challenge to my self  info...Click Here

Now that I have my Computer issues fixed I can post my two 12x12 layouts from last Thursday.
Have to say it has been an interesting week...between several Tornado warnings, very strong straightline winds, & flooding, it's a wonder I got anything done.  Also The Arlington in April Event yesterday was a little windy but had a great time with fellow boothers. (is that a word..Oh well if not, it is now..LOL!!) Will post with picson that later.

It did take me longer than the 2.5 hours I gave my self for the challenge. I do know that next time I will be more prepaired and make a small kit ahead of time. It seems to take me a little longer to choose & decide on my embellishments. I will work on that as my challenge to myself gets going. My next challenge date for me is on Wednesday night, 5/4/11. Wish me luck.
Here's last weeks.
Title is "Miracle & Wonder"  A baby 2 page layout.

A Challenge to My Self...

It seems that I can never complete a 2 page 12x12 layout in one day. So, I have decided that over the next 8 Wednesdays, I will sit down and complete 1 set of 2 page 12x12 layouts from 6:00pm until 8:30pm.  I am limiting my time so that I won't spend all day working on one set. This should be fun and a good challenge for my self. I hope to draw out a few plans the night before and put some of the needed supplies together.
Wish me luck and the fun will begin this Wednesday, April 27, 2010. This should last until June 15, 2011.  Stop back by every Thursday Morning to check out my creations. Let me know how I am doing and what you think. Any pointers would be great too.
In the mean time, Here are a few items I have put together.  Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Have a great and successful week!!!

Getting a headstart on Fathers Day Layout

Mothers Day

* Memory is the cabinet of imagination, the treasury of reason, the registry of conscience and the council-chamber of thought. ~
* Memories of Mom are on the Wings of the Angels who visit me daily.~

Mothers Day is less than a week away. Hope everyone gives their mom a day of relaxation or even a wonderful memory that she can look back on years from now and smile.

Below is a Photo Mailer I have made to add some special photos from those great times we shared and from the times when we were growing up that made her laugh out loud just remembering them. I hope you all have great memories to pass along to future generations.

I have also entered this into Mary's CARDZ TV "Mothers Day Color Challege"
Hope you enjoy. Would love to hear from each of you on this project. Thank you for stoping by.

I used CTMH White Daisy Cardstock (1385),  left over Wht. cardstock that was ink washed with CTMH Sky Blue  (z2294) & Twilight reinkers (z2260).  CTMH 4x6 Flip Flap Protective sheets (Z4114)
Acrylix Stamp Sets:
Bohemian Alphabet (E1019)
Sophia Stamps (B1379)
Picture Perfect (D1363)
Fill in the Blank ((D1465)

CTMH  Exclusive Inks:
Gypsy (Z2190)
Pear (Z2197)
Sky Blue (Z2194)
Wht CS cut at 4.75"x 8.50"
Fold made at 1.75" on left side
Attached ink washed CS face up to the fold of wht. CS total measurements
4.75 x 6.75.   This is so the mailers will fit into a 5x7 envelope.

Cut a 4x6 piece from the ink washed CS.  I stamped the wht. side of the ink washed cardstock with the scallop stamp in purple & placed inside the Flip Flap.

One side shows white with the purple stamped image and where I colored in the sky blue with the marker.  The other side shows the ink washed side of the cardstock. The second flip flap I put a 4x6 piece of Amethyst CS. You can place 5 photos in this mailer or a combination of photos and journaling spots. This would make a nice gift to send mom in the mail or place by her nightstand on Mothers Day.
I wish each and every Mother a very happy and jouyous day. May your Blessings be many that are moments for memories to be cherished and preserved for a life time to come.
To order the CTMH Flip Flaps yu can contact me by email at

Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to your comments on any of my projects or posts. I am still learning, so constructive critisim & tips are very welcome.

Thank you!!!!

I have to say,  "Thank You!"  to everyone who stopped by over the last 4 weeks. Especially, Thank You to those who have become followers. I do not know where this new journey will take me or whom my postings will inspire in the world of crafting. I am still on a learning journey in the world of Blogs, blog hopping,  posting information, & the art of sharing what I love to do in a different forum.  I hope those who choose to follow will be patient with me as I learn the gadgets and how to work in HTML on this Blog. One day, I hope to share and teach by video on my blog. I am open to ideas and advice from those who are more experienced in this area. I've learned a lot in my spare time just getting this Blog started. I feel so behind in the world of Blogging as I have visited and begun following other wonderful crafty bloggers.

Today I am sharing a page I put together that was actually inspired from a stamp set I thought I would never use. So, I challenged my self to make at least one layout.....Now it is one of my favorites for stamping in backgrounds. More pages to share using this same Stamp set at a later date. Let me know what you think. I would love to here your thoughts.
;)Thank you for visiting and taking time to comment.

What's a Crafter to do with all these left over CS & papers? ......

......I know.....throw them out...NOT!  Shred for paper birds nest......No, don't think so.    Ahh, I know.....Use them in cards and other crafty 3-D Paper Art.  YES!!!! that's it.   OK, here is something I put together with some of my huge stash of left over CS and design/printed papers.  I am working on a few more,  thought I would share this one first. I mainly work on Scrapbooks and 3-D paper art...What do you think for a quick card made from scraps?

The base is CTMH Colonial White cardstock  8.5"x5.5" folded in half.  I stamped my sentiment first at the bottom right corner using CTMH exclusive inks in Blush (Z2106). Then I randomly placed three different acrylix stamps from the Cherished Flourishes stamp set (D1413) onto one 3"x3" block.  I rrandomly stamped in the CTMH Sweet Leaf Ink around the sentiment covering the rest of the cardstock. (You will notice, I stamped off the CS edges only on the cut sides.)  My first 3/4 circle mat came from a 4.5"x4" pc of left over B&T papers from the Sophia Level 2 (X7131B) paper pack. My med. to drk. green circle mat was from a 4"x4" pc of paper from where...I do not know..LOL.  The circle is 3.5" in diameter. My medallion is from a 3.75"x 7.5" strip of left over B&T papers from Sophia. On the two horizontal strips I used Fiskar "lace" corner punch only on one edge. Top horizontal Sophia B&T paper measured at  3.25"x.75". The Bottom horizontal is CTMH Blush Cardstock measured at 2.5"x.5".  They are butted up together with the laced punch corner facing away from each other. The vertical piece~ Colonial white CS 3.75"x1.75"mat with a stamped image on the Blush CS with 4 corners punched with the same corner punch as above. I trimmed the bottom edge of the vertical mat with a organza 1/4 wide and 2" ribbon.   I played with all my scraps and prepositioned everything before I adhered it down. I also embellished randomly with CTMH GLITZ stardust glitter gel (Z1313). A fun way to add sparkle without getting sparkle all over your projects, clothes, and home.
