Blog Award

If your looking for all the blog candies I listed Click HERE

My First Blog Award!

I got a super surprise from Nita over at Nita Notes. She has given me my very first Blog Award! Thanks so much Nita! It has taken me a few weeks to get this posted.  :)

In accepting this award, I am required to tell you 8 things about myself. So, here they are:

1). I am a MOM to 2 very wonderful girls. One is in her first year of Culinary School in KY. My other has her family and she has made me a grandmother recently.
2). I have been married for 23 years (this August!) to my best friend.
3). I am an Independent Consultant for Close to My Heart.
4). I have recently begun my business as a SCRAP BOOKER for HIRE.
5). I love listening to many different forms of Music as I create in my crafty space (a must to have music going, rather listen to music than watch TV).
6). I love learning new things and especially about historical history and customs of far off lands.
7). I also love reading historical novels (including a few love lorn books-as my daughters so sarcastically call them)  ;)
8). I love to take short road trips to beautiful country locations and just watch the skies, birds, and life take it's course through pictures.
I am also supposed to pass this award on to 15 others that inspire me. Because I've only been at this for a couple of months, I may not have that many yet, So I'm going to choose people that I find to be super creative. :) I am sure I have 15 blogs in my list who do not already have this badge. If not, I hope this does not break the rules..;)
Paper Pleats and Ribbon Roses
Scrap Happy

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My youngest is having a rough start to a long week at college. So I am sending her a pick me up. I've baked some cookies and here's a basket I have put together to ship some snacks and an uplifting note to her dorm in KY.  The Cherry papers from CTMH were just what I needed. I have held on to the paper pack I had left over after using it on making a recipe box for my girl (she is going to school for Culinary training~mainly baking & pastries). She loves almost anything cherry. I know she'll love it..and it matches her recipe box too!!

Very short post today. Been working on a few projects. One for the girl scouts and one for a local teacher. Back to creating some mini albums for about 35 kids/teens. Can't wait to get them done so I can share with all of you!
Now..you all go scrapbook or create something wonderful to share so I can come visit your blog. Leave me a comment below this blog and I'll come visit you this week... Happily Scrapbooking My Memories~S`andra

Check out this Link to my most recent favorite mini album  "Our Yesterdays"

"All Our Yesterdays" 6.5x6.5 mini album

If you have a moment go check out Keepsakes by Melissa. I like  a lot of her projects and she is having a wonderful blog candy giveaway. Thanks for taking time to go stop by.

I have to say, I made this album the other morning and fell in love with it. Originally I made it as a show piece for a festival. I loved it so much, I have now added my very own pics and will give this to one of my girls later down the road (after I am 6ft under that is..LOL!!). It will sit in my crafty room or on the living room mantel so I can revist some of the yesterdays of my family. Hope you enjoy the craftmanship.
CTMH products were used just not the papers this time.
CTMH inks...Chocolate (Z2111), Parchment(Z2142), & Bamboo(Z2103)
other ink Color Box Brown by Cats Eye
CTMH Stamp set Card Chatter-Thank You (C1381)
CTMH My Creations A-door-ables (Z1321)
CTMH Designer Buttons-Wooden (Z1387)
CTMH Hemp-Natural (Z280)
Papers are a combination of Bo Bunny's Back to Basics -Mamma Razzi's,
My Minds Eye-Apron Dots, K&Company-Addison's Blue Gingham.
Used a heavy Cream textured cardstock that was left over from projects long ago. Still trying to use up as many scraps as possible in anything I create.

Front page- I heavily edge the cream base cardstock with the  Cats Eye Brown and all other papers used were also edged with the same ink.  The first mat is the Minds Eye Apron Dots cut at 6.25". The next mat is Bo Bunnys's Mama Razzi's cut at 6". The title card is the back of the same Bo Bunny's cardstock cut at 5.5x3".
This shows the Mini album partially opened. You can really see the cross hatching in the edging I did of the back pages.

Here you see the second and third page. The negative stamping of the shape on the 2nd page is the cat's eye brown and some of the CTMH bamboo. I used the K&Company Addison Blue Gingham on both of these pages. The sentiments are strips I cut from the Bo Bunny's Mama Razzi's cardstock. The one at the bottom is extended across both pages.  The cardstock on the a-door-ables door on pg 3 is another piece from Bo Bunny cut at 2 7/8x2/78 to fit the door. I stamped both sentiments from the CTMH stamp set in the Cats Eye brown (this ink has a browner red color and worked great with this paper). The sentiment fit perfectly in it's corner. This area is for the girls Locks of hair I have preserved from when they got their first hair cuts.
The third page you see the CTMH a-door-ables which comes white.  I took the CTMH parchment stamp pad, fliped it over and patted all over the a-door-able until I got the color effect I wanted. Then I took the Bamboo stamp pad and lightly stamped around it as well. I did not use any sponge daubers to do the edging with or to stamp the a-door-able this time... I wanted the rougher look from directly stamping with the ink pad. I edged it with the chocolate.  I attached a piece of vellum directly to the back of the a-door-ables, then put foam tape at the bottom and both sides. This is so I can slide the packaged locks in behind the vellum. I attached a CTMH wooden button that was trimmed in CTMH Hemp. I think the door is cute.

Here I continued the strip from the 3rd page over to the 4th page. Used the Minds Eye Apron Dots papers here.

Here, I heavily edge the base cream cardstock with the Cats Eye Brown, the second mat is the cream cardstock but, I only edge it lightly. The piece of cardstock on the 4th page is a cut shape from the Bo Bunny cardstock. On the 5th page I repeated the same steps with the base and 2nd mat.
Then I used the negative stamping of the shape from the cut out on the 4th page. On the negative stamping I did use a dauber. The cream paper had a texture to it, so the daubing effect turned out perfect. I also put a journal mat below the 2 pics. And you see where I put the other wooden buttons with the hemp tied in bows.

Here you see we are back to the front.  I just need to add my journaling and a few dates. Then it is complete.
Here is the cut out shape I used to do the negative stamping.
All the buttons were adhered with CTMH Liquid Glass (Z679). That stuff will hold them down forever.
I know... this was a bit long but, I thought I would share more details so if you would like to scraplift you have the information. You can click on my CTMH badge to purchase any of the CTMH supplies and all other supplies came from Hobby Lobby. Have a wonderful weekend.
Have a few projects to work on..when I get these massive projects out of the way, I will share a few of them with you.
Thanks for stoping by and leaving me a message. I love to get thoughts and opinions from all my crafty friends.

My 3rd Week ~"Challenge to Myself" results and OWH project info!!!

Ok...having to post a little early this week. Will be away on Thursday morning.
I am putting this 2 page layout in The NSD Fruit Challenge over at Mary at Cardz TV Go check it out. Some pretty talented people posted already.
Then my card I am entering in the H2H challenge ALL BUTTONED UP

I pulled out my Mayberry WOG Kit. I adapted this one for my own personal use, instead of for a class or workshop. (I always see things differently...LOL! Only follow the wog kit map when working a class or workshop).  Anywhooo...I had some odd and end pics that I wanted to put in layouts but, I did not want to do a whole page just for one pic. This is what my crazy brain came up with. I also wanted to incorporate the fruit theme for a blog challenge as well. Then you will see at the bottom, I made a card with the lefts overs from this part of the paper pack I used. I still have plentyof cardstock and B&T papers to make about 3 maybe 4 more layouts. I love these paper packs.
CTMH products used unless noted otherwise.
Paper pack, button badges, & stamp set from the Mayberry Workshop on the Go Kit. Colors used: Smoothie, Olive, Sweet Leaf, Cranberry, Sunny yellow, & Colonial white.

On the first page I stamped the pear in Sweet Leaf 1st then Sponge daubed the stamp with Olive in various placeas and restamped the image. The apple, I stamped in Sunny yellow first, then daubed the stamp with Olive and Cranberry and restamped the image on top of the yellow. Cut those images out and pop dotted to the layout.
I stamped the center of the fabric badge buttons with the different fruit just to get the negative effect from the stamp. Stamped the tiny flower on top in four locations and adhereed to the page. You see here where I used the idea of the WOG Kit 1/2 circles to border the stripe. I just used a smaller scallop border punch I had from Fiskars and cut them in half to line up against the striped  page border

On the second page I stamped the peaches in the smoothie color first, cleaned the stamp and heavily rock n rolled in the sunny yellow on the lower sides and upper section of the peach then restamped the image. I stamped the leaves in sweetleaf first then rock-n-rolled in the olive and restamped the image.
The peaches look nearly real with the yellow stamped on top of the smoothie ink.

Here you see the button badge stamped in a closer view.

Here is the card I made with some of my left overs. I am sending this to a friend of mine. So I am not sharing the inside in case she happens to get on here before she receives it. This is the B &T paper from the Mayberry paper pack that I made the scallop circles from.

I edge the inside of the scalloped whole punches and all the edges of the cardstock in Olive. I centered the punched out area, then stamped the cherries and the flower in the center. I stamped the sentiment card stock in yellow flowers and also placed 3 buttons from bag of buttons onto the card. I do not make a lot of cards, so, I think this one is pretty good. I'll try more embellishments on my next attemp for a card. Hope you like my creations this week. Have more creations but, not enough time to post everything. I'll be back later on this week or over the weekend...Life happens first...
Happily Scrapbooking My Memories~S`andra V.
Love to see your comments. Thank you for taking time to stop by my little world of crafting.
PSSSS.....Also, to challenge myself to make cards, I have decided to make cards for the Operation Write Home Organization....This is where we send hand made blank cards to our heros so they are able to send messages home. They are in desperate need of Fathers day cards by the 21st of May. Please read the guidelines and watch the mailroom video. They have a location close to you to mail them to so they don't take as long.
I won't be able to send a lot at this moment...but, I will send at least 10 to 15 to them before the deadline. The next deadline will be may 30th for Memorial Day cards I believe. Click on the badge I have added to my side bar. If you can help them out, It would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I can host a monthly card making in my area for our heros.  The site to go to is: http://operationwritehome.org

New Journey to this journey......Scrapbooker for Hire

...Well, I have been asked to do a few scrapbooking projects for others. They are fun and exciting for the planners (me & patron), and most appreciated and loved by the receiver. Well, I have decided to take another plunge...Meet your "Scrapbooker for Hire".
You ask, What is that? Just what it says basically....You do not have time to get all those wonderful pictures of family, vacations, school events, parties, & etc. into a scrapbook or a set of particular pictures into a gift giving book; you hire me to do all the tedious and crafty pages for you.
I will consult with you on the type of book, size, theme, or what ever it is you are wanting to do. We make a game plan for time frame (depends on size amount of pictures and so on). I will collect information regarding pictures you want highlighted in special formats or particular information on members in the pic. Too many things to mention here, but I think you get the idea.
If you are interested or know someone whom may be in need of a personal Scrapbooker, Please contact me. Lets get the party started, get those pictures out of the boxes, drawers, cameras, & computers and we will put them in a most memorable book that you can share for a life time with all your family and friends.
Thank you for stopping by.
Leave me a comment. Would love to hear from you.

My first Wednesday 2 page Layout Challenge to my self....

Click here to see Week #2 "Challenge to Myself" results

I have to apologize to those who were looking for this. Apparently it never posted due to operator error. I hit draft instead of post. This was supose to be posted laste Thursday..... DUM.. DUM DUM... DUMMMM...LOL!!!

This has been an interesting past 5 days....I think between Arkansas, Tennessee, to Missouri this area has become the new Tornado Alley. All is well here in my community, but there are so many near and far that have been affected by sraight line winds, tornados, and now flooding. Please say a prayer for those who have been affected.
Ok, now that we will finally have a storm free day, I can share my layout and other projects I have worked on.

I got started a little late and it took me longer than the 2.5 to 3 hours I had planned. But that's ok. I just need to learn to plan the day before and be more decisive on my embellishments and stamps.
Here's MIRACLE & WONDER Layout. Minus pics. I have not printed off the pictures that go on this layout yet. But I will share them..they made it to the computer so far...Another plan...Get pics off computer and print them for my layouts. Especially since I am already 5 months behind getting my first grandsons layout done for my scrapbook. I did get my daughters book done from her baby shower and the first month he was home. Ok, enough chat.....Here you go....
Let me know what you think. Love to hear your thoughts.
have a wonderful week!!!

To get the 3 colors onto one stamp set, I sponge daubed
the yellow onto the stamp, then the medium color, then the darker color.
Great technique for adding in different colors with out colorig in.
i did daub all around the paper edges to add a little dimension.

These are papers I have wanted to work with for a long time. I just could not get a pic/design in my head with them. until I saw a layout Mary at Cardz TV did, Then it all came together. These papers came in a packet as a gift from a friend a year or two back. Sorry, I do not know what designer on these papers.
The designed papers are not CTMH. I did use CTMH solid color cardstock and CTMH White Daisy pigment-based ink which I used on one layout to distress the edges. I also added my very favorite easy to use sparkle-CTMH GLITZ stardust glitter gel. (doesn't get on everything and everywhere). No stamping on these layouts. I wanted something a little plain Jane so to speak. I think they came out brightly elegant.  These 2 pages are meant to be beside each other or on totally different pages in your scrapbook.  I see pre teen or teenager pages on these, brother sister pages...even twins pages.

The first page (Lagoon), It's base page is solid, second layer is designed paper, third layer is a brighter solid (CTMH Pacifica cs) and the fourth layer (the center) is the center of the 2nd layer) The designed paper has heart shapes throughout. One of them lined up dead center, so I enhanced it with my favorite CTMH Glitz Glitter Gel (Z1313), added organza ribbon just below it. Cut out the Paisley from the other coordinating papers that came in the packet and pop dotted one and then the other two half/quarter pieces were adhered onto the solid cardstock.

The second page (Pear Green), It's base page is the designed page, second page is a dark green solid & the third layer is a lighter green solid. The fourth layer is the center from the base page. I hope that made sense to you....
...(Anywho, I actually cut out the center of the first three layers so the weight of the pages would not be an issue (ex. of the back side of pages at bottom of this blog). This page can be turned to use on any one of it's side. I added the cut paisleys and pop dotted them

Here is where you can see the levels of the cut out centers from the base, 2nd, & third layers. When you put thes in your protective covers, more than likely you will place another page behind it. So you never see the back of your pages.
Actually, you could turn this into a page as well. I would not do anything to pierce the papers though.

I hope you enjoyed these. Thank you for stopping by and giving me some input on these.  Comment away.....

Here are a few Mother's day items I have made this past month.
Check out the "all about Mothers" Link
Click here---> Heart 2 Heart Challenge "All About Mom's"

Used the Sophia paper pack
from Close to my Heart

My card I made from all scrap papers

Here is another 6x6 mini album for MOM. I used scraps from several different
papers left over from other projects.
This is the inside...
The circular areas were done by rubbing  chocolate ink and then closing in the circle with denim blue ink from CTMH.
Under the circle is a place for a
special message just for mom.

on the right the message reads,
WE ARE so blessed"
on the left the message reads,
"U R our MOM"

Here shows the hidden journaling area. I attached the overlay circle with a brad and stiched ribbon around for a more detailed look.
Here is the Moms Photo mailer.
Used the Bohemian Alphabet from CTMH for the word MOM.
Gypsy Ink from CTMH
Paper is larger scraps from
 other projects.

Inside you can see the CTMH memory protector 4x6 flip flaps.
Enough room for several pics and journaling that can be hand given or better yet, mailed to that special woman..MOM!

Hope you enjoyed these items. Would love to hear your comments on these projects.
Thank you for stopping by.
