Scrapbook Layouts

October Layout
Using the CTMH Cricut Artbooking and some odd and end papers I have had for a while.
Time to use up those scraps
I mixed and matched the fall and Halloween cuts from the Artbooking
Just need to add my journaling and I am all done.

June 2013 Layouts/ Booklets
Click HERE to check out the Blog Hop featuring this
and other Fun in the Sun projects.
Adding this to the
Heart 2 Heart Challenge TOOL TIME.

Used several basic tools to complete the look of the booklet.
I have added some Base instructions near the end of this project.
On the booklet flags I used my actual stamp pad as the ink distresser
to get a wide and random look to each one.
On all other I revert to my faith sponge technique for ink distressing.
Here I used the CTMH June Stamp of the Month's Flowers & Sentiment
on one of the Flags.  I used the  April Stamp of the Month sentiment
and the sunburst to continue over from the front page.
I added the My Stickease from the retired  Florentine set to the front and back pages.
I fussy cut the sunburst with my CTMH Micro-Tip Scissors.
I applied more Florentine B&T papers to the back side to strengthen the booklet.
Here you see I heat embossed with Gold CTMH Embossing Powders.

Here I added CTMH 3-D Foam Tape to the sun ray and the middle stamped circle.

After stamping my Year I used my markers to color in the
negative area of the stamp set to give it more visual detail.
The basic construction of this project.
All my measurement's listed for cutting are vertical x horizontal
Starting with 12x12 cardstock, Score at the following Measurements.
Beginning left to right.
3 3/4", 4 1/2", 5 1/4", 6", 6 3/4", 7 1/2", 8 1/4"
Now accordion fold the score lines. Front and Back flaps should
be folded coming toward you.
You will be adding cardstock to these flaps.
I used (2) 12" x 5 1/2" cardstock to add to the front and back flaps of
the accordion folded base. I applied adhesive to the outer
edge of the added cardstock as well to the outer edge on the flap of
the accordion base. Adding the card stock will give you a wider book.
I lined up the add on cardstock on my mat so the right side edge would
line up at the 6 1/2" ruled line. I then lined up the last crease of
the accordion folded base at the start of the ruled mat. Then slowly laid
the flap onto the cardstock lining up the top and bottom evenly.
This shows the inside of the book flap attached to the
accordion folded base.
Next shows the front of the Accordion Folded book.
Finished measurements are V x H =12" x 6 1/2"
I heavily ink distressed the books outer edges
For a more sturdy book front and back I added B&T papers to the book
front and did the same to the back. Leaving at least 1/4" of
 the Accordion binding showing.

I started with just one page, had to add
a second page. Just didn't look right
without the coordinating page.
Besides I had more pics to share.
I used one page of the

for the 3"x12  B&T papers
Cut 1 piece Blk. hemp at  5" to 6"  for added bow on pg.1
Will need to thread enough through large Bling buttons to
be able to tie a knot & have a small amount
of overage on the 3 large Bling buttons.
I used just enough on the smaller Bling buttons
to be able to glue ends with the Liquid Glass
to the backside of the button
Close Ups
Daub edges of all cs first.
Plaid and Tulip Rose print cs is daubed with
Tulip Ink on all edges. Desert Sand cs and the cross hatch/flourishes B&T are daubed on all edges with Desert Sand Ink.
Live, Laugh stamped on circle is stamped in Black Ink with
the Field Trip Alphabet Stamp Set

Stamped Accents
See Lingo tab above for directions of
1st & 2nd generation stamping.

Use the 3.5x3.5 sq. Colonial White CS to stamp the following images.
Stamp 2 images of the larger rose onto 1 - 3.5x3.5 square in first generation* in Tulip Ink. Stamp the larger rose again on the 2nd 3.5x3.5 square in first generation, also stamp the smaller rose in Tulip Ink
on same square in  2nd generation*.
On the 3x3 sq colonial wht. cs, stamp the leaf shapes and the leaf vine in
Desert Sand Ink using 1st generation*
You will stamp the 3 other leaf images directly onto the layout later.
Also cut out all accents later. (you won't lose the small pieces)
Before stamping!!!
Pre-assemble your papers before stamping & adhering to Blk. base. This way you can adjust for you pictures, accents, & other embellishments to your liking. You may even want to turn the page opposite or switch lower positioning to upper on the base.
Stamping Cut pieces
Stamp the bottom edge of the Tan Cross Hatched B&T (2nd pg)
all the way across in Desert Sand. (you will go off the edges)
Just above that stamped image, stamp Love in Tulip Ink on your left.

Pre assemble your letter stamp set for the circle. Easiest trick for rounding your wording - lay the actual letters onto the paper where you want the stamped image, then press your block onto the stamps (be sure to have the image facing the paper). Ink your letters and stamp your circle.
Placing
Adhere your 1st paper piece on the 1st page (in mine it is the plaid 3"x12") about .5" from the bottom. Now adhere blk. hemp on the 2 strips of 3"x12" tulip rose B&T papers and tape ends onto the back side.
(DO NOT GLUE DOWN THE FRONT OF HEMP TO PAPERS)
Then you can adhere 1 strip of B&T barely overlaying the
top edge of the plaid strip on pg. 1.
Place your Circle about .75" from left and top of blk. base.
You will overlap the tulip rose B&T paper.

Cut the Zip Strip you saved from earlier at 6"
use one for 1st page.
Go in about 1" from left side of base and about .25" from
bottom of plaid strip. Be sure to adhere under your blk. hemp.
(see bottom left side of above pic)
Now adhere the 6"x4.5" Desert Sand CS Mat right next
to this Zip Strip but, on top of the blk. hemp.
Now Tie your extra hemp piece around the 1st pg hemp into a bow and place as shown above. (most of loose ends will be under mats but you can have them lay how ever you choose.
Next adhere the 3.5"x.25 plaid piece to the top right about .25" from the right side and even with the top. Over the hemp as well.
Adhere your 3.75"x3.5" desert sand mat to pop dots and place slightly over the black hemp line & just slightly over the first mat & at least .25" from the  bottom of page. Now place your last two mats as desired.

Be back later to finish instructions. Got to eat...LOL!!!
I am back...fast chow..Pizza..yum. Don't get that very much. No body wanted to cook tonight. What a blessing for fast food.
Ok....on with more information.

Your 2nd page...
Adhere your plain Cross Hatch B&T the same as the plaid on pg. 1. Add your Tulip rose B&T Print same as the 1st page.
Adhere the 1.25"x2.5" to the left side butted above &
against the tulip rose B&T print.
Now add the 6"x8.25" Desert Sand cs 1" from the right
side & 2.75" from the bottom of the base page. Lay over the blk. hemp.
Add the 2nd 6" Zip Strip butted against the right side of the desert sand mat.
Now you can stamp the larger leaf image in Desert sand Ink
at the area you desire. Mine is stamped over to the right  &
slightly over the tulip B&T but mainly on the Cross hatch B&T Paper.
We will finish working with the 2nd page accent placing
then go and finish the 1st page.
At the top you see the 2 pieces I chose from the Roxie Coordinating Adhesive sticker assortment. Place your choices in desired area. I have added the heart stamp above one of my picks with the wording in Tulip Ink from the WOG stamp set. (This is optional. I just did not have pictures to fit the whole mat as suggested in the Idea Book.) Put Pop Dots on 2 of the larger stamped roses, 1 small rose, and on the Leaf Vine.
Place the Leaf Vine 1st at the upper left corner of the large mat. Place one of the large roses just over the vine accent for a layering effect.
Now place a smaller lighter color rose just over the stamped leaf images at the bottom right. Now place the larger rose over the stamped leaves
and the smaller rose for overlapping.
You will need your liquid Glass for the Button Bling.
A small amount goes a long way.
Do hold it in place for at least
a minute. Gently insert the stick pins just at opposite angles in the
upper left arrangement. You can put a slight amount of
Liquid Glass to the bottom tip of pin to keep them in place.
For the 1st page accents...
Place small pop dots on to the leaves, larger pop dots on the rose.
Place in desired area. Overlap the leaves with the Rose.
Do same with stick pin and button bling.
You may add a typed or hand written Journal to the center of the circle.
